I started CBA in 2012 at the Christchurch Farmers Market, selling cakes by the slice on a Saturday morning. Word spread quickly and before long I was caking full time. Since then, Cakes by Anna has grown into a successful business, creating cakes for weddings, birthdays, any occasion that calls for celebration - or commiseration.

A Fine Arts graduate and self taught baker, I have created my own style of baking and cake decorating. This is a strictly no fondant zone, that stuff is kicked to the kerb and replaced with fresh fruit and veges, high quality ingredients, fresh flowers and herbs, anything edible that will enhance the flavour and look of a cake. There is so much beauty found in nature, and my cakes highlight that.

CBA operates from a lovely kitchen/studio located on High Street in the city centre. The space is shared with Bunch Floral, run by Alicia Erceg, who is another one-woman band who makes magic with flowers. It’s a fun, playful and vibrant workspace and we love being part of the growing, creative central city.

I bake cakes for Tom’s, which is my brothers sandwich and coffee shop. Located on Southwark Street in the central city, you can find my cakes there Tues-Fri. This is a friendly spot with beautiful coffee and delicious sandwiches - a great place to meet a friend and spend the morning.

The cake menu changes often, and with the seasons. I like to offer flavours that you might not find on a regular cake menu. While the classic carrot cake has it’s place in the world, there is so much more out there. Take the plunge, I will hold your hand/ the fork.

The cakes are made to order, and it’s recommended that you allow as much time as possible when ordering your cake. Some weeks book up quickly - I am a one woman band which means having to turn down orders at times to ensure each cake is given the time and care required.

Send through your order, enquiry, or friendly hello via the order form. I can also be contacted at hello@cakesbyanna.co.nz. Keep up to date with what I am up to via instagram - @cakesbyanna.
